Satisfying Cornhole Game Tournament

I wanted a way to spice things up. Things had become boring lately. I needed something in order to liven up my mood. And I didn’t want something tried-and-true, I wanted to shake things up a bit. The most obscure idea came to me from nowhere…I should host a corn toss tournament!

Corn toss event day found me wide awake bright and earlier. The combination of nervousness, anticipation and excitement made it impossible to sleep. A quick glance out the windowpane proved we had perfect climate; clear, beautiful sunshine would make the day even more enjoyable.

My pal was assigned the task associated with reserving a shelter house; ideally he would be able to find a park close by that could accommodate the event. After he nailed down a local, I would draft some outstanding flyers to advertise the event. We thought the best bet for maximum publicity was facebook and twitter. By advertising on both of our accounts, we were certain to get a good crowd.

When I reached the shelter house, I wasn’t surprised to find my pal awaiting me. My friend was just like a kid all jacked up on sugar; he was nearly bouncing up and down with giddy excitement! While establishing the registration table, we chatted about what might be available for us. We figured there would probably be a combination of serious and just-for-fun competitors. Considering the wacky trophy design we came up with, we wished it was a just-for-fun person who won! Eventually, our nervous energy wore off and we resorted to waiting in silence.

There is no way I could have fathomed how many people were willing to embark on our crazy adventure! Within minutes of posting the flyer upon facebook, we had our first competitor. From there, the excitement spread like wildfire. My jaw dropped when my friend made the ultimate tally; there were going to be over 65 people competing! Corn throw bags would be flying all over the place!

Seconds before the shotgun begin, I had to fight down much more giggles. Everyone was poised in the ready position, ready to toss their own first bag. This moment, this scene, was exactly what I had been hoping for. I had definitely found something to distract me from my dull life!
